Poor Dummy. Not worth the moneyFeb 07, 2006

I've been a practitioner of Wing Chun for over 10 years and seen my Sifu Muk Jong stand the test of time and abuse from being practiced on over and over again. He's had his Wooden Dummy for close to 20 years and it's still in decent condition, no cracks whatsoever. However, when I had finally reached this level, one of my Gung-Fu brothers purchased this particular dummy for his house so we could work on it together. Let me tell you, from the first time I saw it, the trunk looked alittle like my Sifu's Muk Jong, but that's where the similiarities end. The arms were WAY TOO SHORT, the trunk looked like it was glued together using different pieces of wood, and the frame is a joke. Not only does is the frame NOT STABLE, but the way it's design causes to tip over when it's being hit. In addition, he's had it for a few months now and there's a crack from the top of the Muk Jong going down towards the bottom. Don't purchase this, it's a waste of money. If I'm going to invest so much money on anything, I'd like it to last me more than a few years. This is definitely NOT an authentic Wooden Duumy. Stay away at all cost!!!
